I'll do a search for that recipe, Jamie. But although my oven was working when I baked that cake, now that I have to rely on microwave oven I've found that I can still bake cakes - albeit its a little harder to achieve an even 'rise'!

Thanks for your recipe-locating efforts, Stephanie! I've never attempted to bake a cake in a microwave, though it's nice to know that it's doable should there arise an emergency requiring cake to solve. Teehee!

The 'secret', Jamie, is to turn the cake - I generally turn it four times during a typical bake - so that the heat is evenly distributed (of course, then you need to be consistent: I always turn it clockwise! Since it's the natural way, it's easier to remember!)

Imagine how much fun you'd have baking cake in a microwave oven with a turntable, Stephanie!

If one wishes to have the same flavors of this dish but cooked-up in a way that's quicker, one can fry-up the ingredients in a frying pan using one's desired frying fat, and simply melt the cheeses on top at the end. It won't be as pretty-looking than it would be in the pizza format, but it should taste great!

Awesome, Dena! I have you beat, though, as I was living in Austin in 1977 when I was exactly zero years of age! Teehee! Actually, if one counts when I was a zygote, then I was living there since December 21, 1976, 11:35:08 a.m. Central Time. Ha!

I moved from Leander (which is considered a suburb of Austin) to Florida in late 1990/early 1991. The last time I was in Austin (or any of Texas) was around 1998. Not long after that, the city's slogan "Keep Austin Weird" was adopted. Unfortunately for the Austinites, their understandable longing for weird to return will have to wait a bit more. Ha!
